Which announces Aldi was the cheapest supermarket in 2022 Aldi was found to be the least expensive grocer for the seventh month in a row. Its basket cost £81.63, closely followed by Lidl at £83.24. Norwegian retailer, Reitan Retail, is buying the majority of Aldi Nord’s stores in Denmark, as the discounter exits the market. Subject to approval by the Danish competition authorities, Reitan will purchase 114 stores and three distribution centers from Aldi, for an undisclosed amount.
