Safeway’s total fourth quarter sales, for the 16 weeks to December 29, increased by 1.2% to $13.8bn, with identical store sales increasing by 0.8%. Net income attributable to Safeway increased by 13.2% to $244.0m. For the full year, total sales increased by 1.3% to $44.2bn, with identical store sales up 0.5%.
