Auchan sells stores to Saigon Co.op in Vietnam

Saigon Co.op buys out Auchan’s business in Vietnam.

Vietnam’s leading domestic retailer takes over

It was earlier reported that French retailer Auchan will withdraw from Vietnam. In a joint statement released today, it was announced that Saigon Co.op will take over operations in the country.

Existing members of Auchan’s shopper loyalty programme will be automatically transferred over to the Saigon Co.op programme.

Saigon Co.op also said that existing Auchan stores will be rebranded as Co.opmart, Co.optra or Finelife supermarkets.
